Join us at the Education Cannot Wait High-Level Financing Conference

Join the Global Education Cluster throughout the Education Cannot Wait High-Level Financing Conference (HLFC), taking place from February 16-17th. Organized in close collaboration with the Governments of Colombia, Germany, Niger, Norway, and South Sudan, and Switzerland to mobilize the resources needed to deliver on its 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, the ECW HLFC is a call on world leaders, businesses, foundations, and high net-worth individuals, hoping to raise at least $1.5 billion to deliver its ambitious four-year plan.

The HLFC is an important platform to showcase the GEC’s strong and deepening partnership with Education Cannot Wait to strengthen system wide coordination and response to meet children and young’s growing education needs in emergencies and protracted crises. This includes through reinforced coordination, information management and thematic support to over 30 country education clusters and working groups; strengthened evidence-based and data driven planning and response; development of pertinent guidance and resources; and heightened advocacy around sectoral priorities.

Demystifying Coordination: Why are Education Clusters Integral to Achieving ECW’s Mission? | 17th February | 14:00-14:45

This event unpacks why and how coordination should be used to its full potential to design robust MYRPs and FERs underpinned by transparent, consultative processes with local, national, and international actors. It is also discussing opportunities to bolster the impact of ECW’s work through coordination, including rigorous evidence on needs, integrating cross-cutting priorities, and strengthening linkages with development and refugee coordination bodies. Through this, the GEC, together with Cluster Coordinators from Myanmar and occupied Palestine territories, are demystifying the role of Education Clusters/Working Groups to support ECW’s goals.
