New Briefs | What are children saying about Education in Emergencies?

Between 2022 and 2025, the Global Education Cluster (GEC) supported country clusters and partners to consult with children as part of Joint Needs Assessments (JNAs). Now, the GEC has launched a new analysis synthesizing findings from consultations with over 1,900 children across nine countries. 

A critical implication of these briefs is that humanitarian actors must consult with children in order to have a holistic, complete picture of EiE needs and provide an appropriate EiE response, as well as to deliver on Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP). Girls and boys often reveal insights that are rarely obtained from other (adult) sources and are a critical part of informing quality, accountable humanitarian responses.
