Global Education Cluster Partners Forum

The Global Education Cluster Partners Forum is a dedicated platform for members to discuss priorities, advocacy and thematic issues around education in emergencies coordination. The Partners Forum convenes three calls each year (Summer, Fall and Winter) leading up to the Global Education Cluster’s Annual Partners Meeting in the Spring. 

The Partners Forum was launched in December 2019, with the first call attended by 70 members and representatives from country coordination teams, and featured dedicated highlights from the Nigeria and Iraq Education Clusters, as well as update on the Global Partners’ Project from UNHCR, the GEC and Inter-agency Network for EiE.

The platform is not only an opportunity to not only discuss priority actions around Education in Emergencies coordination, but also provides country coordination mechanisms with a space to share information and operational updates, promote collaboration and strengthen advocacy. To do this, each call spotlights two country clusters/working groups, and one partner initiative from among the membership.

The principle of partnership is a cornerstone of the cluster approach, and a key pillar of the Global Education Cluster strategic plan. As such, we are committed to strengthening our partnerships to meet growing education needs of children and youth living in humanitarian contexts, as they are the foundation for a well-coordinated, accountable and quality response.

Interested in Becoming a Member of the Partners Forum?

Membership to the Partners Forum is open to governmental, non-governmental or civil society entities (organisations, groups, networks, donors, etc) committed to upholding the fundamental humanitarian principles, principles of partnership and the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) Minimum Standards. Additionally, prospective members must be undertaking education in emergencies work at the country or global levels, contributing to furthering well-coordinated responses to meet needs of affected populations.
