Global Education Cluster 2019 Annual Report

In 2019, education cluster responses aimed to support approximately 17 million children, youth and education personal in 25 countries.687 million USD was requested to support approximately 15.7 million children and youth, as well as 257,000 education personal. By the end of the year, 300 million USD was received, enabling 9.2 million children to be reached with education in emergencies assistance.

The Global Education Cluster support in 2019 included:

  • Facilitating Country Cluster Strategy Development, with 9 strategies developed and a further 9 under development 
  • Roll out of the Core Coordination Training, reaching over 340 participants 
  • Launch of the revised Needs Assessment Package and associated Coaching Program
  • Furthering key work around localisation, cash and voucher assistance and collaboration with child protection
  • Launch of Global Education Partners Forum
  • Working with UNHCR and the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies to strengthen joint coordination, response and planned through the Global Partners Project
